Turning to Christ When Things Feel Burdensome

Meeting deadlines in the workplace can often feel overwhelming, especially when expectations are high and time is limited. Pressure can build quickly, leading to stress, frustration, and even doubt in one’s abilities. As Christians, we are reminded that we do not have to carry these burdens alone. God calls us to bring our concerns to Him in prayer and to trust His timing. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6). When deadlines loom and challenges arise, patience becomes essential—not just waiting passively, but trusting actively in God’s plan. Scripture encourages us, “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently” (Romans 8:25). Through prayer and patience, we can find peace even in the busiest seasons.

As we persevere and complete our work, it is important to remember that every success is an opportunity to glorify God. Achieving goals and meeting deadlines should not lead to pride, but to gratitude. The Bible reminds us, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13), emphasizing that our ability to overcome challenges comes from Him. When we succeed, we should follow the example of giving God the praise, as written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:31). In every accomplishment—big or small—we acknowledge that God is the source of our strength and victory. By keeping Him at the center of our work, we not only meet deadlines but also fulfill a greater purpose that honors Him.
